About Us

Cap City Comedy Club — photo 1

Some comedy clubs feel like an afterthought, a dark room with a mic and a two-drink minimum. Cap City Comedy Club is the opposite. Rated 4.4 stars across more than 2,500 reviews, this Austin institution pulls national headliners and breakout locals onto the same stage, giving every seat in the house something worth talking about on the drive home.

The new Century Oaks Terrace location at The Domain raised the bar considerably. Reviewers consistently point out that there is no bad seat in the house, whether you settle into the balcony or grab a table close to the stage. The room is spacious, the sightlines are clean, and the staff keeps drinks coming without hovering. Parking is easy too, with free garage spots less than a five-minute walk away and accessible parking available.

This is the kind of place where a Tuesday night out becomes something you text your friends about Wednesday morning. Austin's comedy scene has plenty of open-mic rooms, but Cap City is where you go when you actually want to laugh.

What We Offer

Cap City books a rotating lineup of stand-up comedy shows throughout the week, from nationally touring headliners to sharp regional acts making noise on the circuit. Tickets are available through the club's website, and the calendar stays loaded, so there is almost always something on the schedule worth grabbing seats for.

Beyond the laughs, the club operates as a full bar and restaurant, meaning you can make a proper night of it. Order drinks, appetizers, or a full meal before the show and let your server handle the rest. The service earns high marks in reviews for being attentive without being intrusive, which is exactly what you want when someone onstage is building to a punchline.

Private events and group bookings are available for birthdays, corporate outings, and special occasions. The accessible entrance and seating options make Cap City a genuinely inclusive night out for everyone in your group.

"This was our first visit to their new location and it was great. Plenty of parking in pink garage which is right down the street. We sat in the balcony area but I didn't see a bad seat in the house. We ordered the basket of fries and ha ha lemon pepper wings and it was Plenty for both my wife and I. The Steve Trevino show was awesome with plenty of laughs."

"Cap City Comedy is a solid venue with a great lineup, friendly staff, and a comfortable, laid-back Austin feel. The servers were responsive, the seating was spacious, and the overall atmosphere felt welcoming and homey. Sitting on the side of the stage was a little unusual at first, but honestly, it seems like there’s a good view from almost anywhere in the room. The only thing I’d suggest is that performers engage a little more with both the left and right sides of the audience. The reason for four stars is the line to get inside, which wrapped around the building, and on a hot summer day, that could get rough, so having water available would be a big plus. Overall, I had a great time and would definitely come back."

"I had a great time. You can park for free in the domain parking garages there is one less than 5 min walking distance with accessible parking. The club itself has an accessible entrance and seating as its chairs and tables not secured to the ground. They have bar food and fun cocktails. Its an intimate comedy club with an Austin themed mural as the backdrop. You purchase your tickets online and pick them up at the box office. There is an all gender individual bathroom that is large and accessible where a powered wheelchair could enter and full rotate. Staff is very friendly and service checks in routinely during the show. I went to see Ashley Gavin and laughed my ass off. If you haven't checked her out I highly recommend her."
